Efectos de vitaminas y suplementos antioxidantes en la prevencion de la enfermedad cardiovasular.

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading causes of deaths and disability worldwide. Over the past few decades, observational epidemiological studies have reported that intake of fruit and vegetables rich in various vitamins and antioxidants reduce the risk.

It has been estimated that if an individual increases fruit and vegetable intake up to 600 g daily, the worldwide burden of disease could be reduced by 31% for ischaemic heart disease and 19 % for ischaemic stroke.
